HIKING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MERANO AND SURROUNDINGS
The Tappeinerweg is one of the most beautiful high altitude walks in South Tyrol and stretches for about 4 km above the roofs of Merano. It leads from the Gilfpromenade over the slopes of the Küchelberg to Quarazze, from where you can access it directly from our hotel (300 m).
Due to its sunny location, the Tappeinerweg is accessible during all seasons and offers a mix of alpine and Mediterranean vegetation. He was named after the doctor and botanist Dr. Tappeiner, who financed the promenade almost 200 years ago and thus created a landmark for Merano.
The famous Meraner Höhenweg at over 1.500 m is located in the middle of the Nature Park Texelgruppe. It can be walked on from March to November and offers a breathtaking view on the Meran and surroundings as well as the Dolomites.
Experience the diversity of the mountain world, the flora and fauna and let yourself be mesmerized by dense deciduous and larch forests, pastures and craggy cliffs. The hiking possibilities in the nature park Texelgruppe are with more than 240 km countless and absolutely worthwhile.
The Algunder Waalweg, runs over the village of Lagundo to Merano and has beautiful viewpoints that overlook the entire Adige Valley and Burgraviato.
The trail stretches over a length of 6 km from Plars di Sopra e Mezzo via Lagundo to Quarazze. There you will find the direct connection to the Tappeinerweg. For the most part, the path has been preserved in its original state.
The spa town of Merano invites you to linger for a while and a holiday in Merano has its own charm in every season. Time is running slowly here and yet it passes by quickly while strolling through the streets and discovering the city.
